Hanoi to host Green Economy Forum in November
The Green Economy Forum (GEF) 2023 is scheduled to open in Hanoi on November 2, featuring dialogue between leaders and policymakers from Europe and Vietnam on green growth and sustainable development.
With the theme "Empowering Vietnam’s Sustainable Landscape: European - Vietnamese Collaboration Fuels Green Initiatives”, the Forum will be held by the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham).
A number of conference sessions will be held as part of the Forum, focusing on renewable energy, green finance, carbon emission reductions, and sustainable agriculture.
At a press conference on the Forum held by the Chamber on September 28, Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation to Vietnam, H.E. Julien Guerrier, highlighted its importance as a symbol of the ongoing cooperative efforts between Europe and Vietnam. He believes that new initiatives will pave the way for a successful green transition, demonstrating the strength of bilateral cooperation.
The Forum is expected to help the Vietnamese Government build a legal framework to facilitate the process of green transition and mobilize capital sources for the task.
